What is Business Brokerage?
Simply put, Business Brokers help entrepreneurs buy and sell businesses. Think of it like a Real Estate Broker, but instead of houses, we sell businesses. We list businesses and are paid a commission on the successful completion of a transaction.

According to a recent survey conducted by the International Business Brokerage Association, 50% of business owners expect to sell their business within the next 10 years. The Ideal Candidate:
So how do you know if you have what it takes to become a successful business broker? Our ideal candidate is 35 to 65 years old, does not need any prior business brokerage experience, and meets most of the following criteria:
- Holds or has held a management level position or has been self-employed
- Wants to control his or her own destiny
- Is self-confident and likes working with people to help them achieve their dreams and goals
- Can see themselves in a consulting capacity
Our Franchise Model:
The Murphy Business franchise model has two options. You can start a new Business Brokerage firm from scratch, or you can convert an existing business into a Murphy Business Franchise.
The startup costs of opening a Murphy Business franchise are designed to be very reasonable. If you operate a home based office, or if you already have an office, and have standard office equipment such as a computer, printer/scanner/fax and telephone, the investment could be less.
